Tiwa Savage/Teebillz Saga: A Lesson For Yemi Alade And Her Manager, Taiye Aliu-aliu

Tiwa Savage and Teebillz’ story has been trending in the last few days now. The estranged couple have revealed a lot about themselves and it’s obvious ‘water don pass garri’.  Tiwa has said she was not going back into the marriage no matter what happens. This simply means that, that is the end of the marriage but all thanks to God that the sensational female artiste, Tiwa is a self-made brand and also, she was quick to have dropped Tunji, her ex-hubby, as her manager, so, her life (musically) is not in anybody’s hand but her management and of course, her creator.

Nevertheless, there is need for another sensational artiste, Yemi Alade, the Johnny Crooner, to lean a lesson from the saga that has separated the two. How? Sources have it that, Yemi is equally going through some unpleasant times with her manager, owner of Effyzzie Entertainment led by Taiye Aliu, who is rumoured to be the same thing Teebillz was to Tiwa. An ally reveals on the ground of anonymity that Yemi Alade is just an artiste under this label, despite the fact that they are alleged to be romantically linked, she doesn’t have a say even on issues of importance to her career.

Hear as they put it, “The most painful aspect of it all is that, Yemi, as talented as she is, doesn’t have her own voice when it  comes to decision making about the management or her own career. “Oga Taiye’ as she fondly calls him is said to be the brain behind everything and her opinion doesn’t count. Another thing that is making a lot of us feel bad about the future of this young talent is the idea of ‘Oga Taiye deciding over her songs first before being passed for recording. And this is a man who practically knows nothing musically. The ones he doesn’t want, obviously won’t fly, this has been the order of the day, and it’s about to blow out of proportion as her songs are becoming more satiric, like a joke, lacks content for emerging generation to learn from and banal in totality. But as long as there is something coming out for Oga Taiye from shows and royalties, every other thing is secondary.”

Could this really be the position of things in the life of Yemi Alade whose new album, Mama Africa is selling like pure water in the market and of course the entire airwaves are given it adequate publicity it deserves?

We are still trying to get in touch with the beautiful and well-endowed artiste before we can reach a conclusion on the subject matter. Until then,Taiye Aliu and Yemi Alade keep your fingers crossed.
