Who is Alex Iwobi?
Iwobi is a 19-year-old born in Lagos and has recently been the subject of an international tug-of-war between England and Nigeria. He has now committed to Nigeria after gaining caps for England’s Under-16, 17 and 18 teams.
Arsenal youngster, Alex Iwobi netted his first senior goal for the Gunners in the first half of their Premier League clash with Everton , as the 19-year-old sets about realising his undeniable potential.
The forward was handed a new deal at the Emirates earlier this season after rising through the ranks at Arsenal’s Hale End academy and has now become a regular in the Gunners’ first-team squad.
The teenager first gave fans a glimpse of his talents in pre-season, where he featured on the tour to Singapore before starring on the Emirates Cup, netting against Lyon .
The production line at Hale End has continued to churn out first-team players in recent season, with Hector Bellerin last year emerging as a first-team regular, but is Iwobi set to be the next big thing?
Gunners fans were given a glimpse of Iwobi’s obvious talents during pre-season, when he was a surprise inclusion in Arsene Wenger’s touring squad to Singapore, before he netted against Lyon in the Emirate’s Cup in August.
His uncle, Austin J.J Okocha took to social media to express his delight over the recent performance of his nephew.
